Carlos di Sarli (January 7th, 1903)

Carlos di Sarli, born January 7, 1903 was an Argentine tango musician , orchestra leader, composer, and pianist.  Carlos di Sarli started out playing in Osvaldo Fresedo’s orchestra, but soon after started his own tango orchestra (Orquestra tipica), in which he was able to develop smooth, clean-sounding arrangements.  Unfortunantely, many of his recordings consisting of simple rhythems are of a poor quality.  As Di Sarli got older, he added more lyrics and more playful rhythems to his music, which gives an eay, danceable sound for beginners, and adequate difficulty for the more advanced dancers.  Di Sarli played regularly in milongas for social tango dancing.  He is nicknamed El Señor del Tango (Lord of Tango).
